Built in 1988 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2004, the modern low rise Hotel Sol Lanzarote has a total of 343 guest rooms, offering a choice of 222 one bedroom self catering apartments and a further 121 twin rooms, 5 of which have been specially adapted for disabled guests, all of which are built over 4 floors, and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces, around a large central pool area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television with music channels, safety deposit box available for rental, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area.

In addition to the above features, apartments at the Hotel Sol Lanzarote also have an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave oven and ceramic hob, along with a combined lounge/dining room with additional sofa beds, and all rooms are provided with a daily maid service, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer includes a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes 3 large freshwater swimming pools for adults, along with a further smaller children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, as well as a hard surface tennis court and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Sol Lanzarote also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring archery, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.

From May to the end of October each year, the Hotel Sol Lanzarote is a Flintstones themed hotel, and during this time is especially popular with families travelling with young children. During the summer months, alongside the numerous adult activities, the resident Sol Animation team also provide themed children's clubs with the Baby Rock Club suitable for 0 to 4 years, the Bam Bam Club for 5 to 10 year olds, the Cool Club 10 to 14 years and the Teen Club from 14 to 17 years. Guests are advised that some activities will carry a supplementary charge payable locally.
