Extensively refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern low rise Playa Flamingo complex has a total of 305 guest rooms, including 284 one, two and three bedroom self catering apartments and a further 21 studio flats, which are built over 2 floors, and set amidst spacious sub-tropical gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean towards the nearby islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos.

All guest rooms on the complex come equipped with a modern "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with an open plan kitchenette with refrigerator, a combined lounge/dining room with with additional sofa beds, direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services, and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, public internet terminals, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes 2 large outdoor freshwater swimming pools for adults, with a further 2 smaller children's splash pools, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Playa Flamingo Apartments also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by the Thomson "FamilyClub" reps, featuring volleyball, water polo and aqua-aerobics, as well as evening entertainment in the Cabaret Bar with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
